About us

NutritionWorks is based in the Wanaka area and provides nutrition and health solutions for individuals, groups and organisations.  It is run by Nicky McCarthy, who works together with other health professionals to provide clients with the best service to meet their needs.

Nicky McCarthy  BSc  PGDip Dietetics  PGCert Public Health
Nicky studied at the University of Otago, graduating with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Human Nutrition, followed by a Post-graduate Diploma in Dietetics (with distinction).  Since then she has pursued further post-graduate study in Advanced Sports Nutrition, Public Health and Paediatric Nutrition and Dietetics.

During her career, Nicky has worked with individuals and groups in a variety of settings, carrying out nutrition counselling, menu consultation, group education, health promotion and health workforce training.  Her interests and experience cover a wide range of nutrition issues.  Nicky’s passion is working with people to help them achieve optimal health and to reach their goals.  She believes that empowering people with knowledge, skills and good health benefits not just them, but also others around them – whether they are family, friends or patients.

Nicky lives in Lake Hawea with her husband Grant and their children, Caitlin and Max.
